SilverScript begins pattern of hiking co-pays without notice
One prescription I take went from a $13 copay to $126 in one month, a hike of nearly 10 times the previous price. A pattern of deceit began two months ago when a prescription I'd taken for years doubled the copay from $21 to $42. I appealed twice and was twice denied....

This the second year I went with Silver Script, never again. At first my medications were reasonable, then that letter you get in the mail that shows how mush you paid and how much they paid,it showed they p aid paid for all my medications and I paid nothing.I called and complained, and I could prove what I had paid.He said he would send papers so I could get my money back.Sometime later I got papers from Care Mark, which is CVS.I fill them out,and had all my proof attached, but they said was over ten days,of course it was,it took over ten days to the papers.I had new prescriptions my doctor called in,I had a sinus infection, well because I'm 76,they said it cost me more because the price is more if you are 52.What ? That prescription for 14 little pills cost me 28.00,and my blood pressure pills which were 3.70,now cost 18.00.I have the cost of the Silver Script plan taken out of my social security check.I'm done with these crooks.

Between silverscript and walgreens they seem to have different year of bitrh

Last year I sent the SSA office here in Michigan City, Indiana my birth certificate to update my records. I was born 10/06/1932, which is on my birth certificate. Medicare and Silverscript do confirm they received the information, however, Walgreen's still has my birth year as 1933, so the insurance will not kick in and I have to pay cash which has become quite expensive. Should I take my birth certificate to Walgreens?

User's recommendation: Please check all records.

Childproof caps and inability to quote rx price correctly

Never have I worked with a company so ignorant. I requested NO childproof caps and they can't honor that. They sent me caps that would not fit even if I could open the bottles. What do they not understand? Plus they quoted a price that I asked 3x if it was the correct Rx pricing. They listened to the recording and admit they quoted it wrong.

User's recommendation: DON'T USE SILVERSCRIPT CVS CAREMARK.

Childproof

This is the most difficult and ignorant company I have ever dealt with. They cannot send my Rx without childproof caps but they will send me caps that DO NOT fit the bottle. And they don't see the problem. And they are charging me 60x what I was quoted. They even went back and listened to the call and agree they quoted the wrong price even after I asked to confirm the price 3 times. DISHONEST

User's recommendation: DON'T USE SILVERSCRIPT.

Horrible coverage

Since Aetna acquired SilverScript, my primary medications are no longer covered - period. The "copay" on the low priced generics is 95%. THEY DO NOT COVER SHINGRIX VACCINE FOR SHINGLES AT ALL. I'm stuck with this pathetic coverage through the end of this year.

User's recommendation: Stay away from Aetna!

Changes in benefits

I had SilverScript for a couple of years before it was acquired by Aetna and was satisfied with it. I made the mistake of "doing nothing" and renewing with SilverScript. The only medication I take is eye drops for glaucoma. Previously, the insurance paid anywhere from half to almost all of the drops I was prescribed. Aetna does not pay one cent for the two very expensive drops my doctor would like for me to take.

User's recommendation: Avoid Aetna, carefully review their plans.

Overcharge/false billing charges

Ordered 9 prescriptions. 4 were overcharged for. When calling customer service, I was given run-around for over 1 hour.

User's recommendation: Find another drug plan. CVS Caremark will rob you by charging fraudulent amounts. I have filed a fraud investigation with Medicare. BEWARE.

Poor customer service

First, I found on their website a price of less than $3 for my Rx and called to confirm was quoted a price of less than $3 for my Rx. I was billed $129. They even pulled the call records and agreed that the representative gave me a price of less than $3. They charged me $129 anyway. Second, I asked for NO childproof caps. My Rx came with childproof caps anyway. It took over 50 minutes on the phone to get childproof caps for my order.

User's recommendation: think carefully if want to spend so much time and energy dealing with them and their lies.

Having a similar type issue. What I discovered is they change the tier as they call it of a medication so that the amount the co-pay is higher than the retail price. When the co-pay is higher than the retail the pharmacy then charges you retail instead because it is...

You seem angry that the retail price is less that the copay. Is that the only med your wife is on?

Even if it is, there is no guarantee of not needing the insurance in the future. Also, you can just cancel the insurance if it bothers you.

The worst service

Trying to get one question answered about what it would take to be able to get a 180 day supply of 2 prescriptions as I will be traveling to remote places. Good luck trying to get anyone to answer - you can't get past their automated system - it's pathetic.
